The Rebellion Cancer Foundation was created from a powerful belief: surviving cancer is only the beginning of the journey.
Cancer treatment saves lives, but recovery requires more than medicine alone. Survivors often face physical, emotional, and mental challenges long after treatment ends. Our foundation exists to help bridge that gap by supporting healing beyond the hospital—through outdoor adventure, movement, and meaningful human connection.
Rebellion Cancer Foundation helps cancer survivors rediscover strength, confidence, and purpose through adventure-based recovery experiences. By bringing survivors into nature and empowering them through challenge, exploration, and community, we support both physical rehabilitation and emotional resilience.
Our work is rooted in real-world experience and a deep understanding of survivorship. The foundation was founded by cancer survivor Lou Garrido, whose personal recovery journey revealed the transformative power of the outdoors in healing the body and spirit. That insight now guides everything we do—ensuring programs are survivor-centered, inclusive, and grounded in hope.
Through our programs, advocacy, and awareness efforts, we strive to:
Support recovery beyond cancer treatment
Promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being
Build a supportive community for survivors
Raise awareness for cancer survivorship and research
The Rebellion Cancer Foundation is more than a nonprofit—it is a movement that challenges the idea that life after cancer must be limited. We believe survivorship can be bold, adventurous, and deeply meaningful.
We don’t just help people survive cancer—we help them live again.
